April 16, 2006Finnish goth-metallers THE 69 EYES are preparing to enter the studio with producers Hiili Hiilesmaa and Johnny Lee to begin recording their next album, entitled "Angels". The band will also play at a couple of festivals during the summer.
In other news, THE 69 EYES's appearance on NBC's "Last Call with Carson Daly" — which was taped on March 23, 2006 — has been posted online at YouTube.com. The performance took place at the conclusion of the band's first-ever U.S. headlining tour, which featured DAMONE and PROGRAM THE DEAD in the support slots.
THE 69 EYES' latest album, "Devils", was recently released in the U.S. via 456 Entertainment. "Devils" was the fourth THE 69 EYES album to be certified gold in the group's native Finland (for sales in excess of 15,000 copies); the band had also received the same honor for their three previous albums: "Blessed Be", "Paris Kills" and "Framed In Blood - The Very Blessed Of…".
THE 69 EYES filmed a video for their "Lost Boys" single, taken from the "Devils" album, during the Christmas week 2004 in Philadelphia and Hollywood with director and MTV star Bam Margera ("Jackass", "Viva La Bam") and his crew. Watch the video at this location. "Lost Boys" also appears on Margera's "Viva La Bands" CD, which came out in June 2005 via 456 Entertainment.
